Gentlemen, ladies-- if, indeed, there are any present. I come to you with many questions, perhaps even some answers in return, in regards to your rather fascinating medical processes. You all must know my own colleague, one Dr Jezebel Disraeli, to be the head of this fine organisation, and Mr Solomon Goldsmith, a newly-minted colleague of my own, himself; it is all fine and well to hear from them on such matters, and I do so hope to introduce myself to the fold after some inspection. Please, do tell me of any intriguing experiments of yours-- I very well might listen.

My, ever the busy scholars. Of course, I must wonder if such rush is simply a means of escape or if, perhaps, one actually is minding the academia and not the change of season. One must assume the latter, though, in most cases. At any rate, one hopes luck to be on your side; it would be a terrible disappointment were it not.

I imagine, Ms Yamamura, that you would share the same sympathies? On such a tack, I must also make note that you needn't fuss over a late arrival. I know how those after school activities can become cumbersome.

[ooc; Quite affected, though not as you would expect; aaaaaand let the rumours fly. Melodrama in the air, kids-- run with it.]

I dare say, I haven't been at all polite upon my return here, my son. It's been far too long-- perhaps I should offer my sincerest apologies for the delay upon my arrival. Shall you and I trade stories? I'm more than certain you have quite a few words to say, yourself.

If it is not entirely obvious by my way of posting here for you, it appears as though I have, indeed, returned to this fair city. Report at your earliest convenience, Death, Fool. I require your status and that of the Earl Hargreaves'. Do not bother with silence, for simple observation tells me enough that you do, in fact, remain here. I've especially the need for you, Death, as you've a task I require to be performed.

[filtered to the Major]

I hope you were not mourning my absence terribly. It seems that you may yet see a finger pointed at you for my own "crime". You are quite prepared to face as much, though, I assume.

Now is a better time than ever to catch up on recent events, my dear Major. Care to inform me of the Earl Cain Hargreaves' activities? You remember, he's none too forthcoming in regards to his father.

[ ooc; starting off with a bang, people! Also, if you've not yet read of what precisely happened, please do so, yes? ♥ ]

The stench of death permeates the air in this city once again. I wonder, do you, fair citizens, find it to be a bit dull in aroma? Perhaps one of my age has been desensitised to it, and that is hardly something of which I should be boastful. However, I must admit that while the smell is a touch stale, the news creating the smell is hardly disinteresting. Although something, indeed, is missing, and I can't quite place it.

Have we a Jack the Ripper in our midst? I've heard the tales, but it seems to have quietened recently. An ostentatious artisan such as this chap perhaps could not bear to be in the shadows to undead souls roaming about the city; no, that would hardly befit the chap's search for glory and infamy, would it? No matter, for, I am certain, the just and competent law enforcement here shall capture the villain responsible.

Villains, indeed; and what news was this of zombies? I dare say, even the confines of my gracious hosts seem rather comfortable in comparison to the remainder of this locale. How many, I wonder, have been so affected by such dis-ease? My, do these demi-gods here have ever the wicked sense of humour. Wouldn't you all agree?

Well, I shall certainly be keeping my ear to the ground; at the least, this hasn't proven to be boring.

Well, wasn't that an interesting situation. Population control worked well enough in the Middle Ages, and it certainly worked for the better now. I must say, this city never fails to surprise me; and I thought I'd seen it all.

My, doesn't this look familiar. It seems the entire population is out in full-force, aren't they? The network does so indicate as much; hopefully, this increase in population shall leave as quickly as it came. Dare I say it, some of the population wouldn't be worth the dramatic turn in the economy due to overcrowding.

Such the pity, these limitations placed upon me. I must admit, such security is impressive; such would-be "criminals", as they indubitably tarnish my stainless reputation, should consider their actions before leaving the fingerprint at the scene of the crime. More's the pity-- for, surely, such a warning shall be ignored in favour of hot-blooded impatience and instant gratification, and how juvenile that pursuit is.

After all, ladies and gentlemen, the definition of maturity is delayed gratification and patience.

Now that such a holiday is upon us all, I would advise you all to keep a careful watch as to your journeys. One never knows when they may encounter danger.

So we come upon Halloween, and it's ever the pity that I've yet to see anyone reference Samhain, the Day of the Dead, or the like. The spiritual aspects of such a holiday almost seem lost to such frivolities, and I do wonder what that must say about the society as a whole. Rather an interesting observation, one must agree; if I were you, I'd certainly remember those traditions and the meanings behind them.

See now what good proper behaviour does for a gentleman in such a compromising position. I thank the ever so gracious hosts of mine that allow me such a luxury as this. Of course, there is a good purpose to this, and I shall ask for the assistance of a skilled professional in this matter; a competent barrister must be somewhere within this city, am I correct?
